Phone did NOT eat first LOL absolutely destroyed this plate. I’ve always drove past this spot as I’m a local here. I was craving bbq but wasn’t feeling any of my usual go to’s. I finally stumbled across this gem and Boy did it not disappoint ! Fries & Onion rings made to order brisket is absolute fire, great peach cobbler Mac n cheese and the bbq sauce. Mom and pop shop which I love to support small businesses glad I came to this spot, my new go too when I’m in the area definitely recommend anyone looking for some bbq that’s not any generic bbq spots around

For the last 5 yrs I've been desperately looking for a wholesome, family-vibed, bbq joint here in Garland & have been unsuccessful UNTIL today where on the way to do Christmas shopping I saw Rick's Smokehouse Barbecue & it was summoning me there. Treated the wife & bought to go for kids we left at home. Place is very homey & pretty big inside. They are fast & prices are AMAZINGLY low & they PACK your plates. Staff is friendly & have that Garland/Texas vibe. I will be going back from now on as this is my only bbq place from now on.

Saw Rick's on Uber eats and decided to give them a try. They did NOT. Disappoint. I got the beef rib weekend special and when I say it's more than enough food for two meals. The ribs are so tender I broke them off the bone with a plastic fork. The seasoning is immaculate. The baked beans and potato salad are also good. Will definitely be back

I've been going here since 1982. It has changed ownership, but the recipes have remained the same. They know me so well, they start cutting my order, when I walk in the door. Friendly staff... Daily specials!!!

On MARCH 14, 2025.... Idk, who the boy was at the cash register, but he wasn’t so friendly at all, I ask him a question and he just looks at me and didn’t answer me.... I am from ga and wanted some bbq but it wasn’t meant to be, I didn’t even order bc he wasn’t helpful or friendly, I just walked out!
